OSW Part 4

I am sure that you've been wondering where I am.... well.... Linda Cravens OSW created 4 pieces of Designer papers measuring 4.5cm x 14.8cm. So I thought rather than showing you 4 cards at a time, I would make up all of them and show you together.

I really like the bottom card in the chocolate chip selection. I used the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and then cut around one rose. I then sponged a bit of chocolate chip on the raised sections. I missed occasionally and got the actual petals, but it worked well.

I just received the Occasional Greetings stamp set as a gift for Stampin' Up!® for my sales during Sale-A-Bration and have used it heaps in these selections.

I think my favourite card in the Old Olive selection is the key ring one. I just punched circles in different sizes out and made rings. I then cut two of these rings to be able to link them all together. I used a metal edge tag for the part you would hold onto. I can't think of it's technical name - do you know it?

I love the star card in the Riding Hood Red selection. It's just so funky - and easy to make!

Ingredients:

Card: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon White, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Ribbon: 1 1/4" Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain, Riding Hood Red Taffeta
Punches: Just about all of them!
Embellishments: Metal Edge Tags, Button Bouquet, Pretties Kit
Stamp Sets: Priceless, Occasional Greetings, Life Definitions, Rustic Rooster (hostess set), Pocket Silhouettes, Illuminations, Sweet Little Sentiments, Echoes of Kindness (hostess set), Polka Dot Background, Tiny Tags

Till next time, happy stamping...

Extended OSW!

I am sure that you are wondering what the title means! Well basically I saw this fantastic OSW (One Sheet Wonder) on Linda Cravens blog and thought to myself, "I am going to do that!"

Okay that sounds simple enough, pick a stamp set and choose four colours. I thought I'd concentrate on colours that are staying with us after 1st September 2010, as I had seen lots recently from the farewell list.

So quite innocently I picked four adorable colours and after I'd made my own specialty paper, I realised that these were the colours that complimented Bella Rose. So I figured, while I was on this trip, I'd make an extra set and then I couldn't decide on which paper to use, so decided to make two.

Alright, my mission sounds simple, but I just find it very difficult to make the same thing, so I decided that's I'd switch the base card colours around and make each one unique. So what started out as making nine cards, suddenly got extended to 27 unique cards! Well that's what I am aiming for!

Now I am sure that if I blogged 27 unique cards at once you'd be bomboozled with too much information, so I thought I'd show you what I'd made from each cut of the OSW in each post. This adorable selection started with four 3.5cm squares and the rest of the card was built around that.

I think this has been an excellent way to demonstrate that even using the same colourways and starting point, you can create some truly unique peices of artwork!

I like all three of these cards, but I think the chocolate chip one is my favourite! What's yours?

Alright I am going to list all the ingredients needed for this group
of cards together, as there would be a lot of doubling up otherwise.

Card: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
DSP: Bella Rose
Ribbon: 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain
Punches: Scallop Edge, Scallop Oval, Large Oval, Small Oval, 5-Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms, Eyelet Border, Large Heart, Medium Jewellery Tag
Embellishments: Circle Fire Rhinestones
Stamp Sets: Priceless, Sweet Little Sentiments (hostess set), It's Your Birthday (retired), Tiny Tags

Okay well I hope you like this instalment and look forward to showing you the next batch of creativity.

I was Andrea Bucklands Secret Sister......

Okay well it is official now. I can tell you that I was Andrea Buckland's Secret Sister.

First things first, when I got given Andrea as my Secret Sister for this round, I looked her up on the internet to see if she had a blog. And she does. I was gobsmacked by all the beautiful work that she had on there and got very nervous about my abilities to make anything half as nice as her work. To check out Andrea's work click here.

This was the first card I sent to Andrea.

To explain the origin of this card, I had just purchased some glossy white paper and hadn't used it before. Leonie Schroder had given us some tips, so I decided to try out the Fifth Avenue Rose and a sponge dauber and ink. My first version I used black ink for the stamp, and made a lovely rose, but I wasn't happy with it. I really didn't know what to do with the work I had done. So I went to bed - the next morning was my wedding anniversary and I hadn't done anything for my husband. I woke the next morning and had the layout for my hubby's card in my head. Within five minutes of waking I had made this card.

Obviously it was a little to lovey dovey for Andrea, but I thought that I could make the same card but in softer pinks. Basically it was the same layout but in different colours and one was portrait and the other landscape. I love both of these cards.

Andreas card ingredients;

Card: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Glossy White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Stazon White (retired)
Punches: Eyelet Border, Large Oval, Scallop Oval (retired)
Ribbon: Pretty In Pink 1/4" grosgrain
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue, Sweet Little Sentiments

Wedding anniversary card ingredients;

Card: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Glossy White
Ink: Basic Black
Punches: Eyelet Border, Large Oval, Scallop Oval (retired)
Ribbon: Whisper White 3/8" taffeta
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue, Short and Sweet

Keep your eye out for more posts over the coming days and weeks as I show you more of what I sent to Andrea.

Till next time, happy stamping...

Welcome to 2010.....

Alright, I know I am a couple of days late, but I have had a problem with my mojo. The gremlins are home and my creative genius has been taken up trying to work out how to keep them amused. We have just had three days rain and all our friends have gone away for Christmas. Let me tell you, it's taxing after day 2. I have even encouraged the kids to go and play in the rain and the mud - but alas they are really two little princesses who couldn't bear the thought of getting dirty. I hope that the weather is nicer where you are!

Today I finally got a chance to create. I decided to make a cute little bag and some co-ordinating love notes. I got the design from Jenn Picard who is a dream team member of Ustamp. Jenn's design incorporated more girly colours and hearts, but I just didn't feel in the mood for that yet!

I used the star from the Spotlight On Christmas stamp set, which just goes to show that you just can't put them away. I implemented the rock'n'roll technique to get the colour around the edge of the star. It's a bit difficult to see but I used the Sweet Little Sentiments set on the front of these cards in Pacific Point. This is an exclusive set that you can only get by having a party with sales over $300.

Card: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point
DSP: Good Morning Sunshine
Punches: Large Star, 1" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Scallop Edge
Ribbon: Pacific Point 5/8" striped grosgrain
Embellishments: Button Bouquet
Stamp Sets: Spotlight On Christmas, Sweet Little Sentiments (hostess set)

I will soon be showing you all the things that I posted to my Secret Sister in the last round, so stay tuned.

Till next time, happy stamping...

Cyverstamp colour challenge

Okay we as promised yesterday, here is the next card from the cyberstamp. Claire Harrison put out a colour challenge. It was a doozy and took me a little while to come to terms with.

The colours were:
Pacific Point
Garden Green
Basic Grey and
Certainly Celery

These are definitely not colours I play with on a regular basis and would never have put them together myself. But I played along and this is my result.

The colours screamed 'MAN' and then I figured the Basic Grey could look like steel, so out came Totally Tools and I attempted to make a interior shed wall. What do you think?

Card: Pacific Point, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey, Garden Green
Ink: Pacific Point
DSP: Garden Green Patterns Pack II (hostess set)
Embellishments: Rich Regal Eyelets (retired)
Stamp Sets: Totally Tool, Sweet Little Sentiments

I hope to be back soon with more from the cyberstamp, but have to go now and prepare for another scavenger hunt!

Till next time, happy stamping...

The contents of the box revealed

Now I know that I have been gone for over a fortnight, and the suspense may have been killing you. The box in the previous post, was the final parcel to my Secret Sister. Her name was Kim Conway and I really enjoyed thinking of new things to make for her.

So the first thing to show you is this fantastic stationary box. I made this using the "I Wish" Simply Scrappin Kit.

I followed the tutorial by Jackie Topa. It was quite simple to make and a lot of fun.

Using the Simply Scrappin Kit I was able to make a heap of cards, tags and love notes to go in this box. I honestly think that is a fabulous idea for a gift for the person who you don't know what to buy.

Kim has a bundle of kids, so I made them all an individual little pocket, with a personalised tag on the front, with a freddo frog in it.

I originally bought the "All In The Family" stamp set before I even joined SU, but hadn't quite worked out how to use it. Now that I have my trusty Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I was able to put these little tags together quite quickly.

And of course, we couldn't forget a choccie for Mum and Dad, so I whipped up this cute little toblerone case.

And finally my favourite thing in the box. Yet another waterfall card. I love them. This one was made using the Walk In The Park DSP and co-ordinating Great Friend stamp set from the Spring mini.

I used the Build-A-Brads for this project and I love them. They finish a project off beautifully.

So there you go. That was what was in the box for my SS. I hope you enjoyed unveiling these all as you read down the post, as much as I enjoyed making them.

I will be back soon with some more of my creations from the last three months.

Till next time, happy stamping...
