Teachers gift

Okay, you're probably thinking, why didn't she show me this last year? Well I didn't because I made an indentical card and sent it to Andrea, so didn't want her to find my blog and know that it was me.

Now we all know that at the end of the year it's nice to say thanks to your childs teacher, so I modified a box to hold some Ferrero Rochers and Nescafe lattes.

I thought that the '-a-latte' stamp from Fun and Fast Notes would make an appropriate card, the only problem being that it says "Love you-a-latte" and I am not quite that fond of the teacher. So I stamped the 'Thank' from "Thank Ewe" and 'you' from "Love you-a-latte" on some Baja Breeze cardstock and punch it out using the word window punch, then covered the 'love you' bit. I actually think it added a little more pizzazz than just using the straight stamp.

I also used the Spotlight On Christmas stamp set to make the background paper for the card and as you can see it doesn't look very Christmassy at all. I think that's another reason why I love this set. It can be used for a number of occasions.

Card: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
DSP: Parisian Breeze (retired)
Ribbon: Baja Breeze 1" double stitched grosgrain
Punches: Large Star, Word Window, 1/2" Circle
Embellishments: Jumbo Brads 5/16"Neutrals

Make sure you tune in tomorrow for the next addition of the ESAD Blog Hop for Sale-A-Bration. If you haven't been on a blog hop before, basically you start at one blog and hop to the next and the next, until you return to the first post. On your hop you'll be treated to many ideas on how to use the FREE sets that you can earn during Sale-A-Bration.

Welcome to 2010.....

Alright, I know I am a couple of days late, but I have had a problem with my mojo. The gremlins are home and my creative genius has been taken up trying to work out how to keep them amused. We have just had three days rain and all our friends have gone away for Christmas. Let me tell you, it's taxing after day 2. I have even encouraged the kids to go and play in the rain and the mud - but alas they are really two little princesses who couldn't bear the thought of getting dirty. I hope that the weather is nicer where you are!

Today I finally got a chance to create. I decided to make a cute little bag and some co-ordinating love notes. I got the design from Jenn Picard who is a dream team member of Ustamp. Jenn's design incorporated more girly colours and hearts, but I just didn't feel in the mood for that yet!

I used the star from the Spotlight On Christmas stamp set, which just goes to show that you just can't put them away. I implemented the rock'n'roll technique to get the colour around the edge of the star. It's a bit difficult to see but I used the Sweet Little Sentiments set on the front of these cards in Pacific Point. This is an exclusive set that you can only get by having a party with sales over $300.

Card: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point
DSP: Good Morning Sunshine
Punches: Large Star, 1" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Scallop Edge
Ribbon: Pacific Point 5/8" striped grosgrain
Embellishments: Button Bouquet
Stamp Sets: Spotlight On Christmas, Sweet Little Sentiments (hostess set)

I will soon be showing you all the things that I posted to my Secret Sister in the last round, so stay tuned.

Till next time, happy stamping...

Hexagon Boxes

Well it's that time of year, when there are presents galore and the old square or rectangular box is getting a bit boring. Krystina Gerke designed these boxes for Ustamp with Dawn and friends. Of course, I decorated them my own way!

Have you not heard of Ustamp with Dawn and friends? Click on the link and learn all about it. Basically you join up and each day a new tutorial is put up. Now who doesn't like to learn something new each day? The tutors are from all over the world, so it's fascinating to see what is being made elsewhere.

These boxes were filled with chocolate coated sultana's and a little poem on the tag reads:

Santa's heard that you've been bad
So listen here's the scoop
All you're getting for Christmas
Is this bag of Reindeer Poop!

I don't know who the author is, but I love the cheekiness of it!

Card: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Real Red, Baja Breeze
DSP: Parisian Breeze (retired), Ski Slope (retired)
Ribbon: Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain, Riding Hood Red 5/8" striped grosgrain, Linen Thread
Punches: Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Designer Tag, Small Tag
Embellishments: Rich Regal Eyelets (retired)

A gorgeous box!

Well we all know it's that time of year, when we are handing out presents left, right and centre! Earlier this week the local craft group that I belong to had our Christmas party and we all had to bring a Secret Santa present! Now I don't think it was a secret that it was from me!

I had joined Ustamp with Dawn and Friends Holiday Season (now closed) and Jenny Moors provided the tutorial for this gorgeous box! It even has a little window on the top, so you can take a peek at the gift inside.

This box was super quick to make! The decorations were simple to make, as the Spotlight on Christmas stamp set, has five co-ordinating punches that go with it. So I have a special deal on for the next week, finishing 10th December 2009. You purchase the Spotlight on Christmas Bundle for $163.75 delivered to your door.

This bundle includes:

Spotlight on Christmas Stamp Set
1 1/4" Circle Punch
1 1/4" Square Punch
Large Oval Punch
Large Star Punch
5 Petal Flower

That's $194.70 worth of product for $163.75.

Alternatively my second bundle include all the punches detailed above for $123.80.

That's receiving a punch for free if you take up either option! *Postage fees apply.

Perhaps you might want to leave a bookmark on this page for hubby to find! For more information or to place an order, please email me!
