OSW - Part 2

Here we go with the second group of cards from this OSW of Linda Cravens. If you missed Part 1, click here!

This selection started off as a 4cm x 14.8cm strip of paper.

I don't know what stopped me from punching all the way along with the eyelet punch, but I liked the effect that I managed to achieve, purely by accident. Sometimes the best creations happen by accident!

I really loved how the Cottage Garden stamp set, matched in nicely with the Bella Rose DSP. Or perhaps it was the colouring? I stamped the salutation in Riding Hood Red and then again making a shadow in Pink Pirouette, although it's a little hard to see in the photo's.

This card gave me the willies, trying to get it right. The strip I started with seemed to be lacking! I decided that it needed something to go around it and this 1 1/4" ribbon seemed almost to overtake it! Trying not to go overboard, I thought that a plain piece of cardstock underneath would be okay - but it was just too boring! So I got out my trusty crimper and rippled the card and it was just enough to take the plain-ness out of the card.

Again I'll list all the ingredients together to alleviate a lot of doubling up.

Card: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
DSP: Bella Rose
Ribbon: Pink Pirouette 5/8" Striped Grosgrain, Pink Pirouette 1 1/4" Grosgrain (retired)
Punches:Eyelet Border, Photo Corners, 1 1/4" Circle, Designer Label, Wide Oval, Scallop Border, Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, 1/2" Circle
Embellishments: Earth Elements Brads, Build-A-Brad Pewter
Stamp Sets:Priceless, Cottage Garden, Best Yet, Think Happy Thoughts

I hope that you have enjoyed this collection and I look forward to showing you more in the coming days.

Till next time, happy stamping...

November Gift for Andrea

Well it's nearing the end of November as I type this. Yes I am a little organised. I have found that if I write my blog as I send it, the details about the projects are all fresh.

This is the gift that I have sent to Andrea for November. It's a couple of 'magazine' holders, although they are perfect size for our cards. I whipped up a couple of quick and simple cards using Circle Circus and Think Happy Thoughts. These cards are so easy to make.

I also received an message from Andrea telling me that her arthritis was playing up, so I thought I'd tie a couple of bows for her. I suffered from some sort of illness last year, which they initially thought was rheumatoid arthritis and I will never forget the pain that I was in. I vowed that I would do anything to help someone suffering from this crippling disease. Unfortunately Andrea is on the other side of Australia, so I figured the best thing I could do was make some fiddly bows.

Now you may remember the chest of drawers that I sent to Andrea last month. Okay I really meant in October! Well it was part of this set.

I actually followed a Becky Roberts pattern. I love her projects. The tutorials are great and simple to use.

I am not going to list the ingredients for this gift as it was the same as for the chest of drawers. Please check my earlier post for more information.

Till next time, happy stamping...

Cyberstamp Challenge

Hello my friends...

What an exciting week it has been for me! I woke up on Tuesday morning to a lovely email that
informed me that my last post was going to 'appear' on the Yahoo Group Late Night Stampers blog finds of the day for 12/11/09. Wow what a compliment! Thank you to Kelly Mayou who 'found' me!

Anyway us funloving gals who belong to the ESAD (Extremely Special Aussie Demonstators) group have been having a cyberstamp this weekend. Yep right now! We have been online and chatted and had a scavenger hunt and had challenges put out. I was asked to put up a sketch challenge which I did today, so I can now show it to you.

So this was my sketch.... my very first - I never really have to put it to paper normally, it's just up in the head..... you wouldn't beleive how many times I scrunch my brain up, like a peice of paper, and try and throw it out...lol! And here is my interpretation! Do you remember me telling you that I can never follow things exactly? Well I couldn't even follow my own sketch! How bad is that? lol.

It has been fascinating to see what others have made using this sketch. They are all very different and beautiful. I have a couple of other things to show you over the next couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled. I didn't want to overwhelm you with it all on one day!

Card: Pale Plum, Lavendar Lace, Sage Shadow, Whisper White, Glossy White
Ink: Stazon Black, Stazon White, Versamark, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, Pale Plum, Riding Hood Red (re-inker)
Ribbon: Whisper White 3/8" taffeta
Embellishments: Whisper White 5/16" Jumbo Brads, Pewter Build-A-Brad, Button Bouquet, White Gel Pen
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Always, Always In Bloom Wheel, Think Happy Thoughts

Till next time, happy stamping...
