Baby showers galore!

Well I seem to have my computer back again - Yippee!

Anyway I am going to be an aunty again soon - two more times, so I had to make baby shower cards for my sisters.

I whipped these up before I had totally unpacked my craft room, so I had to use whatever cardstock I could find. Strangely enough it was Groovy Guava (aka Gruesome Guava), now retired, and Real Red.

I love this baby tees roller, as it is so versatile and you can cut the images out to give a totally different look. I know of lots of demo's who have unmounted theirs from the roller and mounted them flat too!

I seem to be using up a bit of retired product of late, which is probably because I've had to pack it and unpack and have been reminded that I have it. I hope you don't mind! I'll be back into the new stuff soon enough, although I think I am going to have to keep using retired product in order to make room for lots of new stuff.

Card: Groovy Guava (retired), Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Kraft White, Real Red, Bold Brights markers
Ribbon: Real Red Polka Dot 5/8' grosgrain (retired)
Tools: Big Shot, Polka Dot embossing folder
Stamps: Baby Tees roller, Curly Cute, Polka Dot Background, Baby Tees roller

Till next time, happy stamping...

OSW Part 4

I am sure that you've been wondering where I am.... well.... Linda Cravens OSW created 4 pieces of Designer papers measuring 4.5cm x 14.8cm. So I thought rather than showing you 4 cards at a time, I would make up all of them and show you together.

I really like the bottom card in the chocolate chip selection. I used the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and then cut around one rose. I then sponged a bit of chocolate chip on the raised sections. I missed occasionally and got the actual petals, but it worked well.

I just received the Occasional Greetings stamp set as a gift for Stampin' Up!® for my sales during Sale-A-Bration and have used it heaps in these selections.

I think my favourite card in the Old Olive selection is the key ring one. I just punched circles in different sizes out and made rings. I then cut two of these rings to be able to link them all together. I used a metal edge tag for the part you would hold onto. I can't think of it's technical name - do you know it?

I love the star card in the Riding Hood Red selection. It's just so funky - and easy to make!

Ingredients:

Card: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon White, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Ribbon: 1 1/4" Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain, Riding Hood Red Taffeta
Punches: Just about all of them!
Embellishments: Metal Edge Tags, Button Bouquet, Pretties Kit
Stamp Sets: Priceless, Occasional Greetings, Life Definitions, Rustic Rooster (hostess set), Pocket Silhouettes, Illuminations, Sweet Little Sentiments, Echoes of Kindness (hostess set), Polka Dot Background, Tiny Tags

Almost stampless graduation!

The final challenge for the cyberstamp was an accent challenge. Amy Waters gave us a great tutorial on how to make these gorgeous flowers. Now if you are anything like me, you've looked at the picture and are thinking that I have put the wrong picture with this post.

Well no, I haven't. I just looked at the flower and thought that would make a fantastic laurette ribbon. Now please correct me if I am wrong, with the laurette name....
Tanya Kitto had also put out a challenge to use a rub-on in a project and I thought that I would combine the two challenges together! Are you wondering where I got the "Congrats, Grad!" rub-on from? That's right, it's from the new summer mini.

I was pleased with the final effect of this card and also with everything that I had achieved in one weekend - okay I did finish two projects on the Monday, but overall, these challenges and time frame gave me the incentive to finish a lot of projects. I don't think I have made this many wonderfully diverse things in such short space of time.

Card: Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue
Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Chit Chat Rub-Ons
Stamp Set: Polka Dot Background

I was spoiled by Dianne Spies

Well I have shown you a couple of things that I made for my Secret Sister in Round 1. Now it is time to see my final parcel contents.

Firstly there was this adorable bag made by Di. I was entranced by the bag, but was thrilled when I opened it to find my very own scallop edge punch. I jumped up and down with glee to receive that.

This bag was made using:

Card: Pacfici Point, Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette
Punch: Scallop Square
Ribbon: Pacific Point 5/8" Striped Grosgrain
Stamp sets: Seeing Spots, Say It With Scallops

Next was this adorable card, which Dianne 'revealed' herself to me.

Card: Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke, Really Rust
Ink: Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke, Really Rust, White Stazon
Punches: Eyelet Border, Scallop Circle
Ribbon: Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain
Embellishments: Button Latte, Linen Thread
Stamp sets: Polka Dot Background, En Francais, Fresh Cuts

Finally there was this adorable little gift bag, filled with these sweet little Love Notes. The concept for the gift bag was delightfully simple, yet stunning.

Card: Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon White, Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
DSP: Urban Garden
Ribbon: Basic Grey Taffeta, Baja Breeze 1" Double Stitched Grosgrain
Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes

I feel that I was spoiled by my Secret Sister, Dianne. The thing I love about the Stampin Up company is that all the demo's are there to share. It's a real friendly group of people, and it certainly does feel like a family, which means that having a Secret Sister doesn't feel strange.

So you think that was enough for me. I was pretty happy with it. But Dianne also spoilt my daughters by sending them their own parcel, with a teddy inside. Now they will not go to bed without their teddy from their Secret Aunty.

Anyway I will be back soon with more from the past three months. I'd love to show you projects I am working on now but they are for my new Secret Sister, so you'll just have to wait.

Till next time, happy stamping...

One Sheet Wonders

I know I have been very bad at keeping up to date with this blog. I am so sorry for making you wait. I have been busy working on things for my secret sister. No excuse, I know, but it's the only one I have.

Anyway last week was DH's birthday and of course, I left it to the last minute to do anything. Someone, sorry I can't remember who, had directed me to Mae's Cachet which has templates for doing "One Sheet Wonders" What is a "One Sheet Wonder"? I hear you ask! Well basically it is a piece of cardstock, with many stamps stamped over it and you then cut it up to make a number of different cards. It is quite an effective way of using one piece of card to make a bundle of cards. I think it's fantastic as well, if you don't have much DSP, as you create your own design.

So I quickly whipped up a 'sheet' and cut it up. I decided to try and use Pacific Point, as I don't use it very much at all. I do like the colour but in general find it very BRIGHT. I had just bought the co-ordinating ribbon as well for an extra incentive to use it.

I made two cards using the same sheet for hubby. The first one was from the kids and I had a little accident when stamping "Happy Birthday", so I covered it with the beads. These beads are not SU and were from my friend Julie.

This second card was from me. I loved the way using the same paper you could come up with two completely different cards.

The other fantastic thing about Mae's "One Sheet Wonders" is that you can adapt them to any type of theme you need. My next lot is going to be for Christmas.

Card: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Really Rust
Ribbons: Pacific Point 5/8" striped grosgrain, Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin
Punch: Double Rectangle, 1/2" circle

I am also working on an apparently foolproof method of watercolouring, which I hope to show you next post.

Till next time, happy stamping

A Gift from my Secret Sister

Well here I am back again after a fantastic weekend with my real sisters lounging on the Gold Coast. Which explains my absence.... I haven't made anything to show you lately, so fortunately my Secret Sister has sent me a gift and a card. I loved the little pouch, which had some WW dessert in it.

My Secret Sister also made me this card, which I think is just adorable....

I am not sure that I know all the sets and papers that are used in these examples, but I will try to work them out.

Card: Whisper White, Glossy White, Purely Pomegranate, Sky Blue,
Ribbon: Riding Hood Red 5/8" striped grosgrain, Pretty In Pink 1/4" grosgrain
Embellishments: Real Red Button (retired), glitter
Stamp sets: Flitting By wheel (retired), Polka Dot Background

I hope I got these all correct. I can't seem to work out the stamp sets on the pouch, which I apologise for, or "you make me smile". So my apologies to my SS for not getting them all right.

Till next time, Happy stamping
