What's in the box???

I have made this box for my Secret Sister. I have been making cards and gifts for her for the last three months and this month we have our reveal. Yes, I finally get to tell her who I am. I have made this box and filled it with goodies for my final gift to my SS. So have you received this box????? Am I your SS????

As I type this post, I should be packing to go away. I will not be online again until next month. So I apologise for not posting over the next couple of weeks. But believe me when I return I will be able to show you all the things that I have made for my SS in the past three months.

And yes I have signed up again for the next Secret Sister swap.

Card: Close to Cocoa
DSP: Parisian Breeze
Ribbon: 1" Baja Breeze grosgrain
Embellishments: Chocolate Chip Flower Brads

Take care and happy stamping....

Little boy wishes

Well this coming week I have two little boys birthdays. These are a little difficult for me, since I have two daughters and find myself living with precious and pink all the time. Anyway I have gone out of my comfort zone to put this card together.

I generally don't go towards the bold brights colours, but thought that they are so much nicer than the blue's and browns I normally use for males.

I enjoyed sitting down and doing a little watercolouring with my aquapainter. It's very therapeutic.

Card: Real Red, Only Orange, Glorious Green, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Handsome Hunter, Stazon Black, Tango Tangerine, Baja Breeze, Glorious Green, Black Marker pen
Watercolour Crayons: Earth Elements and Bold Brights
Punch: 1" circle punch
Cuttlebug: Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder
Stamp sets" Loads of Love, Tailgating wheel, Short and Sweet

I hope you like it.

Till next time, happy stamping...

I turned around and there was more....

I arrived home yesterday to find another card from my Secret Sister. She has certainly been very busy. This card is made using the watercolour technique that I showed you a couple of weeks ago. I really like the colours that my SS has used.

I would love to write more, but my baby is crying with a temp, so I had best go and be a mum. Thought you'd like to see this card.

Till next time, happy stamping....

I have been spoiled....

Okay, this post is probably going to take a little while to write, but I will perservere till I get there. After an early start at work yesterday, followed by lunch with good friends, I eventually made it home. And there on the doorstep was a parcel....

I had to control myself from ripping it open right there! My patience was rewarded with this selection of goodies pictured below.

My Secret Sister had outdone herself. This was a fantastic bundle of goodies.

I didn't get to convention this year, but I now have one of the Fifth Avenue umbrella's and a Stampin Up pen. This pen has already had several customers ask for it..... actually they hid it on me, so that I would forget it and they could steal it. But to no avail.... I am keeping a close eye on this one. LOL.

Also a Toblerone, wrapped in a special package. I have to admit the Toblerone, no longer exists. Two very special cards, with beautiful supportive messages inside for me. And the button bouquet range, which has been on my wishlist forever.

And then there was this adorable cupcake folder. Inside it held four very sweet birthday cards and stamped envelopes.

I am so happy with this parcel. My SS is very talented and I love her work. Now I just have to wait until the end of the month to find out who she is.... oh the suspense is killing me...

I try to include a list of the stamps, papers etc that have been used in each project, however there are so many different projects in this package it would take me forever, so if you'd like to know more about a specific card or item, please email me and I'll try to fill you in.

Till next time, happy stamping...

Making Wrapping Paper

I just have to share these photo's with you. As you are all aware Fathers Day is tomorrow and I didn't get any wrapping paper. So I thought that my kids could make some using the Totally Tool stamp set and some brown paper.

Here is Miss 1 giving it a good go. I think she has been watching me too long, because she was quite good at the ink then stamp process. And she thought she was pretty clever too being allowed to play with mummy's toys.

It was all quite serious stuff, especially when she discovered her fingers had changed colours...lol...

I guess this is a good reminder that stamps can be used for many things and not just cards, as I tend to use them for.

Fantastic flip flop cards

Using the watercolour technique that I made my "Watering the Rose" card with, I also made some blue irises. I wasn't happy with the way that they dried, so I got my blender pens out and used some of the excess ink to darken them around the edges and to also colour the stamens in. Then I was happy with the result. I just had to find the right way to showcase them.

I found the tutorial to these fantastic flip flop cards by Kim Burmeister on Youtube. Of course hers looks very different to mine.

On Wednesday I went out to visit a friend on a property and thought I'd make her a card for having us out there. What stamp set suits better than Rustic Rooster? I manually coloured him in using just about every marker in the Earth Elements range. I then embossed over the top of him and stamped the words over the top. The embossing resists the ink, so that you don't end up having words stamped over the rooster.

Below is a picture of the card half opened out. I think these cards can be left without sentiments if you like. I wrote a long thank you in the middle of this card (after I took the photo), so I didn't want to have a stamp in the way.

I think these cards are stunning, but so simple to make. You could make them without even stamping, if that's what you wanted. Just use some of our fantastic DSP!

Blue Iris card

Card: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point
DSP: So Saffron, Good Morning Sunshine
Tools: Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Blender Pens
Stamp set: Fifth Avenue Floral

Rustic Rooster card

Card: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Versamark, Earth Element Markers, Not Quite Navy
DSP: Haiku
Ribbon: Natural Hemp Twine
Tools: Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Stamp set: Rustic Rooster (Hostess set)

I'd love to promise that I'll be back soon, but I am heading back out to work for the next couple of days, so it may be a bit quiet.

Till next time, happy stamping...

More Secret Sister goodies

I have been holding out on you..... my secret sister recently sent me a card and a gorgeous brag book. I was absolutely thrilled to receive them. Even the postie waited until I opened them, as I had been stalking her while waiting for these. And yes, she isn't a cardie, like me but she loved them.

I have decided that my SS likes butterflies, because I have received lots of cards with them on. This is excellent, as I like butterflies too.

The picture below is the brag book opened. It is just so cool! I am definitely going to case this, so look forward to seeing my attempt at this lovely peice of work.

One of the fantastic things about receiving these RAK's is guessing all the pieces that are used to make these items. It certainly helps to improve my knowledge of all our products. Again I am going to attempt to tell you everything that my SS has used to make these, but haven't been able to locate them all. Maybe you can work out the bits I can't and leave a comment.

Card: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Kraft, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette
DSP: Sweet Always
Ribbon: Pink Pirouette 5/8" striped grosgrain
Punches: 1" Circle, Trio Flower, Round Tab, Eyelet Border
Embellishments: Button Latte, 5/16" Chocolate Chip brads
Stamp sets: Flight of the Butterfly and ???

I have a fantastically easy card coming up in my next post to show you, so I hope you drop in again soon.

Till next time, happy stamping...
